German (“Crossed Ward” or “Barrier Ward”) Leading with the left leg, the blade is held before the body on the right side, pointing down and with the arms uncrossed. Cuts are made stepping forward with the right foot. According to Meyer, a position equivalent to a low Hengen usually with the left foot forward. Meyer indicates that this is also called the “Iron Gate”. Perhaps equivalent to the Italian “Boar’s Tooth”.
